A new paint job
by Justin Laing on January 16th, 2007.While I was talking to some new customers I realized that not all of the icons we have been using are obvious. For instance the delete/remove icon we’ve been using on the register has been a red ‘x’. I thought a more familiar icon would be a small trash can. Everyone is used to putting things in their Windows Recycle bin or their Mac waste basket. I also realized that we were using a green check mark for save when almost every other program uses a diskette image.
I went out looking for new icons and I found some really great free icons at a site called FamFamFam. Below are some screen shots of the new icons in use. What do you think of them?

Great ….. some of the positioning of icons could be better served on the right side rather on the left

Add to sale……(Pencil) next to it
I have and the staff even after a few months still hit the pencil by mistake
Just a little thing that slows you down
It would be better on the far right side …. not on the left side
