by Justin Laing on October 23rd, 2006.We’re almost ready to release a set of new reports that have been requested by you. Here’s a summary of the new reports or changes to existing reports.
Setup
A new option under the “Admin” menu, “Setup” will allow you to set account wide settings. For now their are only three things under Setup; 1) Choose FIFO (First In First Out) or Average costing method for your inventory, 2) Credit Card Setup, and 3) Public Profile. Your costing method will default to Average Cost.
Reports: Sales: Margin Per Line
This report will show you a subtotal, cost, profit, and margin for every line of completed sales. You can check this report to make sure your costs are set correctly.
Reports: Sales: By Discount
A summary of sales for each type of discount you give out. It will show you total, cost, profit, margin, and discount total for each discount type.
Reports: Sales: By Class
A summary of sales for each sales class (i.e. Item, Labor, Misc.).
Reports: Sales: By Sales Tax
A summary of sales for each sales tax you use. This may be useful if you charge different tax rates to customers from other regions.
Reports: Sales: By Customer
This report totals your sales by customer for a given date range. It will allow you to see your top spending customers for a given time frame. You can export this information to excel to get a mailing list of your top customers.
Reports: Sales: By Customer & Item
Similar to the “By Customer” report but breaks down each customer per item. In this report you can select category, season, department, manufacturer, customer type, and more to see specific customers who bought items. For example you could search for customers who bought items categorized as “Bike” for a specific date range.
Item view, Customers tab
If you want to see customers who bought a specific item you can go to that item’s record view and select the new “Customers” tab. There you will find a listing with all the customers who bought that item in a given date range.
