Customer accounts preview…

Many shops extend a credit account for loyal or business customers so they can purchase products and pay for them later. We’ve finally decided how to implement this feature in the back-end. I’ve been working on the user interface today and I’ve got a preview for you.

Here’s what it will look like on the register when a customer with an account has been attached to the sale:

great idea, will there be the ability to partially apply credit to a sale and pay the rest with some other means, like cash or credit? thanks!

Yes, credit will act as just another payment type as far as the sale is concerned. So you’ll be able to have credit plus other payment types on a sale.

Will the customer be able to carry a postive balance in there account?

Yes, customers will be able to have a positive balance (meaning they have put more money in then they spent yet).

Would this include the dynamic pricing that I’ve heard about. This would help my shop out alot with team and sponsorships.

Will this also lead to a way to do gift Certificates (Holidays are almost here). Also will it be a way to credit somebody with store credit based on a returned Item.

Dynamic pricing is not part of customer accounts, but we are working on that feature as well. I can’t give you an exact date for when that will be done, but it’s #2 on our list after accounts.
Gift Certificates/Cards are part of customer accounts. We will be offering custom printed cards and possibly cheaper generic cards. You will be able to refund to store credit once customer accounts are complete. I’ll post more information on gift cards soon.

when we get the gift cards added will we be able to use the cards that we all ready have from another vender
