MerchantOS recommends the Firefox web browser. You can download the free browser at the Mozilla website.

[edit] Firefox Windows Setup

  1. Select File->Page Setup from the Mozilla Firefox menu.
  2. Select the Margin and Header/Footer Tab.
  3. Set all the margins to zero and and the headers and footers to --blank--.
    All margins should be set to zero and all headers and footers should be set to --blank--.

  1. You should have installed your receipt printer and/or label printer along with Firefox before conducting these settings. You will also need to print out any page you like on the receipt printer at least once before continuing with these settings.
  2. Open up Firefox and type "about:config" in the URL for the browser.
  3. Type "margin" into the box labeled filter.
  4. You will see four margin settings with a value of "0.5". Double click on each row with a "0.5" and and set it to "0". Your screen should look exactly like the image below.

  5. Select File->Page Setup... from the Firefox menu. In the Format For drop down, select the TSP143 receipt printer. In the Paper Size drop down, select 72mm * 2000mm.

  6. Press OK on the page setup window to close it.
  7. When you first print a receipt, you will need to do an initial configuration in Firefox. If you are just setting up a label printer skip this section to the next step.
    1. Select File->Print. The printer should be set to TSP143.
    2. Select Printer Features in the third drop-down.
    3. In the Feature Sets drop-down select Cut Options. Set both the Document Cut Type and the Page Cut Type to Partial Cut.
    4. In the Feature Sets drop-down select Cash Drawer Control. Set the Cash Drawer: drop-down to Open Drawer One
    5. Select Firefox in the third drop-down.
    6. Set all the page headers and page footers to blank.
    7. Before you print the document select Save As... from the Presets: drop down. Name your preset "Receipt" then press OK
    8. Each time a receipt is printed you can now use the Receipt setting from the Presets: drop down to apply those settings to your receipt.
  8. When printing Labels you may use the receipt setting from the Presets: drop down and no additional changes are necessary. If you are just using a label printer without a receipt printer follow the steps below. DO NOT follow the steps below if you are using both a receipt printer and label printer combined.
    1. Select File->Print. The printer should be set to LP2823.
    2. Select Firefox in the third drop-down.
    3. Set all the page headers and page footers to blank.
    4. Before you print the document select Save As... from the Presets: drop down. Name your preset "Label" then press OK
    5. Each time a receipt is printed you can now use the Label setting from the Presets: drop down to apply those settings to your receipt.
