  1. Download the Zebra printer driver by clicking on this link http://images.merchantos.com.s3.amazonaws.com/manual/printers/zebra.exe. Save the file to your Desktop (Default behavior for Firefox).
  2. Find the Zebra Driver you just downloaded on your desktop (It is named ZUDv55719.exe) and double click on it. Press OK on the first prompt.
  3. Press the Browse button and put in the path to a folder on your desktop called z. Un-check the When done extracting open: Setup.exe checkbox. Press Unzip. When the extractor is done unzipping press OK then press Close.
  4. Unpack your label printer and plug it into the wall and an available USB port on your computer.
  5. With the computer turned on and completely booted, turn on your label printer. The New Hardware Wizard will prompt you on where to search for the driver. Select No not this time then press Next.

  6. Select Install from a list or specific location (Advanced) then press Next. In the next prompt select Search for the best drivers in these locations. Make sure only Include this location in the search is checked: then press the browse button and browse to and highlight the z folder on your desktop.

  7. If a prompt comes up about the driver not being Digitally signed by Microsoft, allow the process to continue.
  8. The wizard will complete installation of the print driver and you can press Finish when it's done. You may in some situations have to select the driver from a list of available drivers if you have previously installed this or a similar printer on the computer. In this case select any of the drivers from the list then press Next and Finish.
  9. Open up the control panel and goto the printers section. Right click on the Zebra LP2824 printer. From the context menu, select Properties.
  10. Select the Advanced tab and then press the Printing Defaults button.

  11. Expand the Paper/Output section (click on the little +) and set the Paper Size: to 2.25" x 1.25". Expand the Device Options section then expand the Head Settings section. Set the Print Darkness to 10. Press OK.

  12. Press OK on the print properties window to close it.
  13. If you haven't already done so, go to the Firefox section to configure your browser for printing.

  7. Press Browse my computer for driver software (Advanced). Then browse to the z folder on your desktop. Press Next.
  8. Highlight the driver with zsd.inf in its path then press next.
  9. When the prompt comes up stating Windows can't verify the publisher of this driver press Install this driver software anyway. When the Wizard states the software has been successfully installed press close.
  10. Open up the control panel and goto the printers section. Right click on the Zebra LP2824 printer. From the context menu, select Properties.

You may be able to skip the first two steps if you have already downloaded and installed CUPS for your receipt printer.

  1. Download CUPS (Common Unix Print System).
  2. Start by installing the CUPS server. Run the file named cups-1.2.12.dmg and double click on the .pkg file. You can use all the default settings to step through the entire process. You will need to type in the password for the administrative user of the computer.
  3. Reboot your computer.
  4. When your computer is done loading, turn on your label printer.
  5. From the apple menu, select system preferences then select print and fax.
  6. On the print and fax window press the little + to add a printer.
  7. Wait a while for the Printer Browser to find all possible printers.
  8. Highlight the printer labeled LP2824.
  9. In the print using drop down, select Zebra.
  10. In the model select Zebra EPL2 Label Printer CUPS v1.2. Then press Add.
  11. Visit the Firefox section of the manual to complete label printer setup.

  1. Unpack and plug the printer into a wall outlet and into the computer and turn it on.
  2. From the apple menu, select system preferences then select print and fax.

  4. Highlight the printer labeled Zebra LP2824. In the Print using drop down, select Select a driver to use.... Below that a list of drivers will be displayed. Select Zebra EPL2 Label Printer 1.3. Then press Add.
