[edit] Contact Information
You must provide us the contact information you want on your gift cards. This information can appear on the front and back, or just the back of the card. See the examples above.
Typically we'll need the following information:
- Address
- Phone number
- Website (if you want it on your cards)
Please provide this information exactly as you would like it to appear on the cards.
[edit] Logo Image Requirements
If you are ordering cards without the design service (or you want us to include your logo image in a custom design) you must provide us with your logo or card design in either Photoshop (.psd), high resolution JPEG (.jpg), or scalable PDF (.pdf) file format. If you need to send a file that is too large to email you can send it to us using YouSendIt http://www.yousendit.com/.
[edit] Design Services
If you'd like to have us design your card we can put your logo (or make you a simple logo) and put it over a full photographic background. The Discover Bicycles gift card above is an example of a custom gift card. Please send us a description of your business and the customers are going to target with the cards. We will try to design a card that fits your business and customers. You can send us any photographs or other graphics you'd like included in the design.
[edit] Proofs
We will send you proofs for approval once your card layout has been completed. We will typically have a proof ready for you within 1-2 days.
[edit] Turn Around Time
Normal turn around time is 6-8 days from your proof approval until your order is shipped. Rush shipping is available for an additional cost.
[edit] Generic Cards
Options
Back
Your generic cards will not come printed with any information about your business. We highly recommend that you print out labels for your generic cards. If you are using our recommended Zebra printer with labels you can print out gift card labels with your business information from the link below (you must be logged into MerchantOS for the link to work).
https://shop.merchantos.com/receipt.php?form_name=gift_card_label
You can print as many copies as you want from the print dialog.
[edit] Barcoding Requirements
You can have your cards printed with a third party printer. If you choose to have your cards printed by someone else you take the risk that your printer will not print the cards to our requirements, making them harder to use within MerchantOS. Gift cards must meet these barcoding requirements:
Preferred: EAN13 encoding beginning with the numbers 23. For example "2300000000009" (9 is the checksum digit). It is recommended that you add a random prefix after the 23 to make it less likely that cards from another business could be used at your business. In the example above I might choose 1234 as my random code making the number "2312340000007" (7 being the check sum). Each card must have a unique number, usually this is accomplished by printing cards sequentially. For example if my first card was 2312340000007 and I was printing 500 cards my last card would be 2312340004999 (the last 9 being the checksum).
UPC-A Option: If you can not print EAN13 barcodes you can use UPC-A. Begin your UPC-A codes with the prefix 4. For example "412340000006" (6 being the checksum and 1234 being your random code).
[edit] Using your gift cards
